The Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and the Hellenic Fashion Industry Association (SEPEE), in the framework of the CREATIVE HUB project, invite clothing design students and graduates, up to 35 years old, situated on the Greek side of the project’s cross-border area, to participate in a clothing design competition with the theme “The Past in the Future”.
About
The competition will be conducted in two stages:
- For the first stage of the competition, contestants are invited to design and submit, digitally, to SEPEE, by the 18th of April 2023, a mini clothes collection consisting of the designs of 6 complete outfits (women’s, men’s or children’s clothing), corresponding to the theme of the competition. The above designs will be presented and evaluated at a live event organized by SEPPE in Thessaloniki, on the 28th of April 2023, where the 6 winners of the competition’s first stage will be announced.
- For the second stage of the competition, the 6 winners of the first stage will be asked, using the appropriate techniques and the necessary materials, to create 1 of the 6 outfits they designed for their participation in the initial stage. Their creations will be presented and evaluated at the second live event organized, on the 15th of May 2023, by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry, where the 3 final winners will be announced.
All finalists will win prizes for promoting their work, while the grand prize winner of the Competition will win their free participation in the “Athens Fashion Trade Show”, which will take place in Athens from 21 to 24 September 2023.

“The Past in Future” first stage of the clothing design competition event
Hellenic Fashion Industry Association (SEPEE) invites students and graduates of clothing design schools, as well as businesses in the clothing and fashion industry in general, to the selection event of the 6 winners of the first stage of the clothing design competition with the theme “The Past in Future”.
1st Stage Winners
The first phase of the clothing design competition with the theme “The Past to the Future” organized on April 28, 2023 by Hellenic Fashion Industry Association has been successfully completed.
The first stage of the competition featured 9 extremely talented designers who impressed the audience with their creations and challenged the work of the Jury.Each contestant presented to the members of the evaluation committee a small collection of clothes consisting of the designs of 6 complete looks (women’s, men’s or children’s clothes), which corresponded to the theme of the competition.
The 6 winners of the first phase announced are:

- Giannakouli Angeliki
- Dimou Zoi
- Maria Theodoroudi
- Makridou Athena
For the second stage of the competition, the 6 winners of the first stage will be invited, using the appropriate techniques and necessary materials, to create 1 of the 6 looks they designed for their participation in the initial stage. Their creations will be presented and evaluated at an event to be organized on 15/5/2023 by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry – ΕΤΥ, where the 3 final winners will be announced.
All finalists will receive prizes for the promotion of their work, while the grand winner of the Competition will win free entry to the Athens fashion trade show, which will take place in Athens from September 21 to 24 2023.
Final Stage Winners
Marinos Valavanis is the Grand Prize Winner of the CREATIVE HUB Project Young Clothing Designers Competition in Thessaloniki
Talent and creativity were at the heart of the Finals of the Young Clothing Designers Competition organized by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry, on Monday, May 15, 2023. The Competition is part of the networking activities of the CREATIVE HUB project and its aim was to give the opportunity to young designers to promote their work, in order to claim a position in the fashion industry and develop partnerships with businesses and other professionals in the fashion industry.
Six talented young designers who stood out for the clothing collections they designed and presented in the first stage of the Competition, which was organized by the Hellenic Fashion Industry Association (SEPEE) on April 28, 2023, presented at the Finals the complete looks they created, worn by models. The grand prize of the Competition was a free participation in the fashion trade fair “Athens Fashion Trade Show 2023″, which will take place in Athens from September 21-24.
The six finalists were the following:
- Anastacha Despina
- Valavanis Marinos
- Giannakouli Angeliki
- Dimou Zoi
- Theodoroudi Maria
- Makridou Athina
Their creations were evaluated and rated by a 5-member Jury, consisting of experienced fashion professionals.
The grand prize winner was Marinos Valavanis, a 28-year-old graduate of a private clothing design school, who presented an impressive modern ensemble, which stood out for the perfection of its construction and the overall aesthetic result. The second place was won by Athina Makridou, a graduate of the Department of Creative Design & Clothing of the International Hellenic University, 24 years old, and the third-place winner was Angeliki Giannakouli, a student of the above-mentioned Department, 23 years old.
