The results and outputs of the CREATIVE HUB Project for businesses and professionals of the fashion sector were presented at the Final Project Event in Blagoevgrad

On May 31, 2023, in the city of Blagoevgrad, the CREATIVE HUB project partnership with the hosting of the Textile and Clothes Branch Organization presented the results of the 2-year initiative. The project was financed within the framework of the cross border Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”.

The final event was attended by over 70 participants – students from three vocational high schools studying textiles and clothing, current and graduate students in fashion and clothing design, teachers and specialists from the sector, representatives of SMEs and institutions and organizations related to the textile and fashion industry, as well as representatives of all partners.

The main aim of the project was the development and creation of a Creative Hub, which would provide support to small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in the production of fashion clothing, young designers and specialists with a completed education in the fashion sector (clothing, knitting, embroidery, textiles).

The event was opened by Mr. Yordan Belovodski – executive director of TCBO, who welcomed the attendees and gave an overview of the main activities, results and tools produced within the CREATIVE HUB project to support SMEs, professionals and students from the fashion sector in Greece and Bulgaria.

Special attention was paid to the functioning of the Creative Center in Thessaloniki and the development of 3 analytical reports concerning key topics for the sector: financing, international standards and network models for cooperation.

The participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of over 20 events held to promote the project – 4 public events at the beginning and end of the project, 3 fashion info days in Bulgaria, 3 presentations of fashion forecasting presentations in Greece, 5 networking seminars, 2 contests for fashion designers in two stages /Art Sketch and Fashion Show/, 1 study visit of young designers to the Hub in Thessaloniki, etc.

It was a pleasure to witness once again the creative inspiration and talent of the finalists in the first stage of the Contest for Young Designers held in Bulgaria, who were represented by Mrs. Maria Onteva – designer and lecturer in “FASHION”, who was especially helpful to young designers in the whole process from the preparation to the realization of their fashion concepts. The event ended with the presentation of the TEXTAILOR EXPO initiative, one of the main goals, challenges and visions of which is the discovery and promotion of new talents in fashion. Mr. Ivan Ivanov – representative of the TEXTAILOR EXPO specialized exhibition invited the young talents present to participate in the TAILOR YOUR MIND competition, which gives the most promising national and international, young fashion designers a chance to appear, betting on the development of emerging designer brands. The Design Workshop was presented, which is organized within the framework of the exhibition, aiming to bring together schoolchildren, students and young designers with world-renowned stylists for the transfer of experience and skills in the “CREATIVE LAB”

As a finale, all participants were invited to the upcoming fashion show – the final stage of the Contest for Young Designers, which will be held on June 6 in the city of Sandanski, where the 11 finalists from the first stage will present their completed looks and the big winner, who will win the right to free participation in this year’s edition of the international forum for textiles, clothing and fashion TEXTAILOR EXPO 2023 /October 5-7, will be announced.

The event concluded with a cocktail/catering where conversations continued in an informal setting.
