Marinos Valavanis is the Grand Prize Winner of the CREATIVE HUB Project Young Clothing Designers Competition in Thessaloniki

Talent and creativity were at the heart of the Finals of the Young Clothing Designers Competition organized by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry, on Monday, May 15, 2023. The Competition is part of the networking activities of the CREATIVE HUB project and its aim was to give the opportunity to young designers to promote their work, in order to claim a position in the fashion industry and develop partnerships with businesses and other professionals in the fashion industry.

Six talented young designers

Six talented young designers who stood out for the clothing collections they designed and presented in the first stage of the Competition, which was organized by the Hellenic Fashion Industry Association (SEPEE) on April 28, 2023, presented at the Finals the complete looks they created, worn by models. The grand prize of the Competition was a free participation in the fashion trade fair “Athens  Fashion Trade Show 2023″, which will take place in Athens from September 21-24.

The six finalists were the following:

Anastacha Despina

Valavanis Marinos

Giannakouli Angeliki

Dimou Zoi

Theodoroudi Maria

Makridou Athina

Their creations were evaluated and rated by a 5-member Jury, consisting of experienced fashion professionals.

The grand prize winner was Marinos Valavanis, a 28-year-old graduate of a private clothing design school, who presented an impressive modern ensemble, which stood out for the perfection of its construction and the overall aesthetic result. The second place was won by Athina Makridou, a graduate of the Department of Creative Design & Clothing of the International Hellenic University, 24 years old, and the third-place winner was Angeliki Giannakouli, a student of the above-mentioned Department, 23 years old.

The CREATIVE HUB project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and national funds of the countries participating in the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”.
